Jason R. Himschoot is a third generation native of Fort Myers, Florida and he has been practicing law in his hometown since 1999.
Jason is an experienced trial lawyer specializing in real estate, business, condominium and homeowner’s association disputes. He has managed many cases involving contract disputes in large scale developer projects, multi-party complex construction defect claims, officer and director liability claims, property boundary disputes, condominium and homeowner’s association disputes and insurance related property damage claims. He has handled cases from initial filing through deposition, mediation, and trial. Before entering private practice, Jason gained valuable jury and bench trial experience as a prosecutor at the State Attorney’s Office, for the 20th Judicial Circuit in Fort Myers.
Having obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Legal Studies from The University of Central Florida, he achieved Dean’s List honors in six out of eight semesters. Jason went on to get his Juris Doctorate degree from Nova Southeastern University and was a Board Member of the Nova Law Review. His article Florida’s Offer of Judgment and Proposal for Settlement Laws was published by the Nova Law Review in 1998. Jason’s involvement and efforts while participating in the Innocent Project, ultimately resulted in changing the State of Florida’s law on DNA testing.
Currently, Jason is active in several local community organizations including Rotary South, the Finance Committee for the Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida and the Tiger Bay Club. Jason is married to his wife, Corey and together they have two boys, Dominic and Aldo.
